New York Home Inspection Certification/License regulations

Home Inspection is a licensed profession in New York.

PHII is approved to provide the required education. Our 10 day, 100 hour, Classroom course is approved in NY, as is our 40 hour field lab.

To become licensed, home inspectors must:
1.) Completed high school or its equivalent
2.) Complete 140 hours of approved training (100 hours classroom and 40 hours of in-field training) OR Perform 100 home inspections under direct supervision of a licensed NY home inspector, professional engineer, or architect
3.) Successfully pass the NYS written exam
4.) Freedom from disqualifying criminal convictions
5.) Submit application and fee

Home Inspection Certification/License Information for New York
We have had several students take our approved course.

We have an education package for you to attend classes here in SD for two weeks. That would cover the 100 hour classroom requirement, then you can stay longer for the 40 hours of inspections, or you can meet that requirement with an inspector in NY.

Since students have to travel, we offer additional courses to give you a full inspection business to offer your clients, including RADON, Manufactured Housing, and Mold Inspection. These courses are provided in our computerized training system, while the home inspection course is a live training course. You also receive our popular IRC software packages for Home and Mold.

Our instructor has performed over 5000 inspections, and is very knowledgeable in home inspection.

We are located in a small town in Madison, SD, it is a safe area, with a small technical college here. You would fly into Sioux Falls (normally on United, but NW and American Airlines fly here as well), and we would pick you up and you would stay at a Bed and Breakfast, there are two of them, one is on a lake, Pelican Landing, and the other is located here in town, the Lamp Post Inn. We also have some hotels (super 8 & Americinn) here in town, but it is nice to stay at a Bed and Breakfast for longer stays.

The cost for the class is $2995, the cost for the additional 40 hours is $1995.

There are two advantages of taking our class, one is we go straight through, for two weeks, so you can get your classwork out of the way quickly.
